Complete Guide to Proper Oral Care

How to brush, use dental floss, and mouthwash effectively.

Proper oral care is the foundation for maintaining healthy teeth and gums. The Dental Association recommends brushing at least twice daily, for a minimum of 2 minutes each time, using a soft-bristled toothbrush.

Correct brushing technique: angle the brush at 45 degrees to the gum line, use gentle circular motions. Don't forget to brush the inner, outer, and chewing surfaces of all teeth. Replace your toothbrush every 3 months.

Dental floss helps clean between teeth — where a toothbrush can't reach. Use dental floss at least once daily, ideally at night before brushing. Antibacterial mouthwash is an excellent supplementary step.

Besides daily hygiene, visit your dentist for regular check-ups every 6 months. Professional scaling and early detection help prevent oral problems before they become serious.

A healthy diet also plays a crucial role in oral hygiene.

Remember that prevention is always better than cure for dental health.
